Thinking about you a lot lately, Uncle Kevin. You are dearly missed. But I know there's a bunch of you up there, having fun together.
Annika, Louisa you very likely don't remember me at all but I spent some time with you when you were young kids and living in Toronto. I was a teenager at the time. I really loved my Uncle Kevin, he was always so kind and thoughtful with us as kids. I really enjoyed spending time with you all before you left Toronto. If you ever want to connect again, please feel free to reach out. Would love to hear from you.

Our deepest Sympathy. Just heard from Peter Germann that Kevin had passed away.
Kevin was always a perfect gentleman: I shall never forget how he struggled with a poached peach half, part of a dessert, trying manfully from keeping it to jump off his plate!
His support and empathy after my accident in Greece in 1996 will always be remembered with gratitude.
Warmest regards

Annika, Louisa, Wayne, Wendy and Dugal and families. We are so sorry for your loss. May God comfort and keep you close.
I remember, Kevin took me for my very first plane ride ever! It was so scary and exciting at the same time. Even though we weren't close, I was so always proud of him for pursuing his dream!
(((hugs))) guys. We love you.
Love Debbie

Uncle Kevin, I have been wanting to call you. I tried to find you on facebook last weekend (surprisingly, Hong Kong has more Kevin Smiths than one might expect!), I thought I should let you know how much you meant to me as a child. Though long ago, how frequent and vivid my memories of you pass through my mind no matter how busy I am in the "now", everyday. I am so sorry I missed you - I wanted to invite you to come visit, meet my children. I wanted you to know and understand how much you meant to me growing up. I hope you do know all of these things, and I hope you are peacefully at rest, and reunited with some good friends and family, wherever you are. Love you.
My deepest sympathies to your family, friends, your girls. Xo

We are so sorry and we share your loss. Kevin was very special to us as close friend of my late husband Francois (Air Canada). He was in our wedding party and Francois was same for Kevin. Kevin lived with us for a short time when he returned from Winnipeg. Our daughter was a newborn, Kevin became Alexis's Godfather and took the role quite serious. He showered my daughters with many meaningful treasures from his travels all over the world. His greatest gifts are the memories they have of playing hide and seek and bringing board games to life. We are heartbroken and will always cherish memories of "uncle" Kevin now and forever. Our hearts go out to Louisa and Ana although we have not seen them since they were 'tots' visiting our home in Toronto ...
Our love and sympathy,
Sue, Alexis & Brittany

From our early days as Huff's Corners neighbours to our post high school shenanigans, Kevin was a valued and loved friend. Since hearing of his tragic passing, scores of memories have come to mind, but what I fondly remember is Kevin's giggle, laugh and zest for adventure. To Wayne, Wendy, Dugal and the extended Smith family, the Vansickle family from RR 2 Croton wants you to know we are thinking of you.

Annika, Louisa, Wayne, Wendy and Dougal, I am deeply saddened to hear of Kevin's passing. We were the best of friends for ever it seemed, since those first days at LKCS.
When ever Kevin was in Canada, we would always try ;and usually managed to get together. I don't know if my stomach muscles could take much more than that with continual hysterical bouts of laughter accompanied by tears of pure joy.
I was lucky enough to visit Kevin in Hong Kong in the late 80's and it was a blast, we wore communist caps before H.K was turned over to China. I drove his boat in Hong Kong Harbour, and swam in the South China Sea, and of course laughed and laughed and laughed. We were the best at that.
2 springs ago, Kevin asked me if I would like to go to Germany to celebrate his and my 60th birthdays, we were only 9 days apart. We toured castles, drank beer and cranked it on the autobahn and held pillows over our faces so our laughing wouldn't wake the neighbours....FUN! It was probably the most memorable trip and such a treat to meet his charming young daughters, who performed on the oboe and bassoon each a classical piece of music for my birthday. Kevin was so proud of his girls, and with good reason, they are delightful. His love and presence will always be there for them.
Kevin always had hopeful and inspirational advice for me, and he will be sorely missed.
Happy trails Kevin and smooth sailing.
Love always, from your friend Cherie

My sincere condolences to you Wayne, Wendy and Dugal. To his wife and children whom I never did meet, know that your husband and father was a very special person to myself and I'm sure anyone that knew him. 30 plus years since our last get together, but it feels like it was last week. Many very fond memories of youthful, harmless hijinks, that I will cherish forever. R.I.P. My friend. " Nothing but blue skies, from now on".
