Doug was a kind and gentle soul all the years I knew him. I met him around 1985 when he was dating my mom. They married shortly after, and were together for over 30 years. They were good together.
Doug was one of the strongest men I have ever known… from years working at the factory lifting leaf springs from one line to the other… but when I put my infant children in his arms, he used those big strong arms and shoulders to gently carry them- I know they felt safe.
Doug was a big Maple Leafs fan and he never missed a chance to make fun of my Habs. I’m sorry he won’t be around to see them win another cup… (Will any of us? LOL- Go Habs!)
We will miss Doug Ellis- he lived life simply, but always had a crooked smile on his rugged, hard-working face. I am sure God has received his hard-working soul into His Kingdom!
