Zoya and I along with our Son Riddho deeply express our condolence to all the members of the Shaw family in Dresden. I left Canada many years ago but I met her last time in 2019 when Phil and I visited her while I was briefly in Canada. I still remember Aunt's curry rice during my days in Canada and all the Christmas dinners with her in Dresden. We will miss her. May God bless her.

Marilyn and my mother, Phyllis Johnson were friends. I remember how much my mother valued that friendship and looked to Marilyn for her opinion and advice. When I got married in 1975, my mother had Marilyn make my wedding cake which was shaped as an open Bible with a verse on it. Beautifully done of course. Marilyn impacted many, many people with the generous sharing of her various skills and her kindness. My condolances to Paul and Philip and their families.

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. Psalm 116 V 15 . Marilyn was one of my best friends when I was a teen and she allowed me to babysit her boys Paul and Phillip which gave me experience with my own 5 children later. She was a great choir leader back at Charlemont. She taught me sewing , helped with my prom dress and my wedding dress, decorations and even decorated my wedding cake. She was a super support to my mom who raised her 4 children alone from my 13th birthday on. She loved Jesus and lived her life modelling His teachings. She was a big help to John on the farm driving tractor and encouraged me to marry a farm boy from her church. All through my nursing career her prayers comforted me and she encouraged me to be a helpmate to my husband.. Surely I rise up and call her blessed . May your memories of your mom bring you joy and peace. .She was a Queen in my eyes. Margaret

I sang in the choir at Charlemont Free Methodist Church during my teens with Marilyn as the choir leader. Only as an older adult now do I appreciate all the work and effort that it took to do this ministry for so many years. Marilyn was just awesome as a director and she worked hard to get the very best out of her choirs. I can still remember her introducing our choir to the song "And Can It Be". It remains one of my favourite all time hymns. Some of the lyrics of the last verse of this hymn include the following words: "Bold I approach the eternal throne, And claim the crown, through Christ my own." I believe that Marilyn now has claimed that crown that we sang about those many years ago!!
